EquiliEat ("we," "us," "our") is a nutrition and environmental-impact tracking app operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME]. This policy explains what information we collect when you use EquiliEat, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we never will.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile details you choose to add (such as a display name or avatar).
Meal and logging data. When you log a meal — by photo, manual entry, or search — we store the food items, quantities, and the nutrition and environmental scores calculated from that entry.
Photos you submit. If you log a meal by photo, the image is sent to our automated food-recognition system to identify what's on your plate. Photos are processed to extract food data and are not used for any purpose beyond generating your log entry.
Goals and preferences. Any nutrition or hydration goals you set are stored to personalize your dashboard and insights.
Usage data. Basic technical information (such as app version and device type) may be collected to diagnose crashes and maintain reliability.
Nutrition and environmental scores themselves are calculated using the CIQUAL database (ANSES, French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety) and the AGRIBALYSE database (ADEME, French Agency for Ecological Transition). These are public reference datasets and do not contain your personal information.
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to operate EquiliEat. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We do not share your personal data with advertisers, and we do not sell data to data brokers.
We retain your account and meal-log data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, logged meals, and associated data from our systems, including your authentication record. This action cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law (for example, the right to object to certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority). Contact us using the details below to exercise any of these rights.
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information protected and to respond quickly if an issue arises.
EquiliEat is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
EquiliEat is available globally. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Canada, additional protections such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or Canada's PIPEDA may apply to your data, and we aim to honor the rights those frameworks provide regardless of where you're located. Because our infrastructure providers may process data in regions outside your own, your information may be transferred internationally as part of normal service operation.
We may update this policy as EquiliEat evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
